Love for Jersey City
I have met some really great people here that are supportive of my art and fuel me with their art. From art activations through Grassroots Community Space Headed by Chelo Mercado, to Move and Groove house music scene ran by Daniel Scala hosted frequently by Mykeal Dawud and B-Boy Irv, to graffiti jams festivals put on by local artist legend Mustart.
I have found my place and family here. NYC is right on the other side of the Holland tunnel, and most would think that is the place to be… But for me and my lifestyle, Jersey City is where it is at!
I find that people here let there talents and skills do the talking and pay very little mind to egos.
I love that in a person. Too many talk so much these days instead of mastering their craft. “Shut up, get to work and show me something incredible thats worth my time”. I feel like thats the mentality in Jersey City.
On my walk home the last night I had my camera and was getting shots around the city and a perfect scene fell into my lens. It is a view that I see almost daily, but this time it was at night. Bus that I take all the time came flying by right underneath the bridge welcoming you into Jersey City. Perfect moment, perfect lighting, and classic Jersey City scene. I had to take that opportunity!
Once I flicked the shot I wanted to share that with people who love and call this place home. Mocked up some apparel and boom! Got the result from the image you see above.
Man, I love this place.
