New Work, New Light

A dear friend of mine gave me a shout about a month ago about commissioning some paintings. Her and her husband just purchased another house and want to have original art work on the walls.

I was honored that she thought to reach out to me. Also, she had some ideas about having me do more artwork for their air BnB and put the pieces up for sale.

A great idea to try out! The more visibility the better, but the more opportunity for people to see that the work is actually for sale is amazing!

These first two paintings of the her commission she wanted a Bison and a something with Sunflowers.

Today I began on the Bison which I titled “Rising BISUN”. I'm trying to capture the amazing sunrises that Kansas has in the mornings, because thats where she is, and incorporated it the Bison’s eyes and horns.

Painting light is one of the most difficult things for me to paint, but that is why I paint it so often. It teaches me new techniques and ways to think about my subject matter. Plus the challenge makes painting other subject matter like a walk in the park.

I also believe its easy to be dark in this wild world we live in. Seraching, finding, and harnessing Light in the darkness and take an incredible amount of effort. I know that it is worth every bit of the fight to choose Light.

Keep fighting through the darkness toward the Light yall.

Stay in the Light.
